What you mean by realism? Is Dynasty a medieval times simulation?

Of course not! Dynasty universe is very different from reality. We do not want to introduce player to maddening slowness of medieval times. In addition, the game is not a job. A player must enjoy a new experience instead of a painful advance through repetitive game content.

Dynasty is a game about making decisions, and how these decisions affect the world around you. The air of realism in Dynasty is produced by an environment where a player is free to commit to a large variety of decisions - any of which affect real people, with real reactions, that in turn affect everyone around them.

In Dynasty a prolonged war on one side of the world can bring grain prices up on the other side. Trading with town hit by plague can bring huge profits or untimely death. Making marriage contract with a neighbor can bring prosperity or force one to support a losing cause. The emphasis is placed on careful planning and evaluation of possible outcomes, rather than on reflex-based real-time action.

Will Dynasty be a competition game?

Will Dynasty be a competition game? - Yes.
Will be there Player versus Player combat? - Yes, a lot.
Will the universe be based on this combat? - No.

A medieval world is an environment of non-linear relationships. To quote, "nothing is simple, and little is true". A player lives on an intersection of various loyalties and conflicting interests. Even a king is not an almighty ruler - his power rests upon the allegiance of his vassals, which is voluntary, and must be secured and maintained. Trade towns, clans comprised of dozens of players, monasteries all work across a kingdom's borders and look out for their own interests.

Success in Dynasty is achieved by an ever-changing game of maneuvering, not by finding a single winning combination of actions and performing it repetitively.

How do you protect new players?

There are no newbie zones, newbie items, newbie flags and other artificial methods that harm game balance and don't give.

We base our newbie protection on social structure of the game that makes established player groups very interested in newcomers. No player group, such as a circle of real-life friends, or a guild migrating from another game, can build a base of power by themselves. An average kingdom consists of thousands of players. Providing new players with support and advice is the surest way to win their loyalty, and long-term support, which is the most precious resource in Dynasty world.

Multi-language communication? Is it possible?

Yes, it is. Like in chess knowing of the rules allow people that can't speak with each other play with each other.

We create a system where all major actions in game (including diplomatic and trade agreements) can be arranged by pre-defined messages that retain their meaning while displayed in any number of languages.

What are technical requirements for playing Dynasty?

The game client will be mostly web-based, using Flash and similar technologies to deliver a rich experience without taxing the hardware. It will work through all but the most restrictive firewalls, and, being based on web browsers and other cross-platform technologies, function on a wide variety of computers and operating systems.

The overall effect will be that Dynasty can be played on absolute majority of currently running computers, both from home and from workplace.
